THESE BEGGARS AGAIN!

We first heard this expression from a Missionary (?) (He is Nigerian and raises support in Nigeria to minster especially in Nigeria) staff of Great Commission Movement. According to him, Bitrus Ghani who shared the thought, feels that most “supporters” have the expression in their heart as they let you into the house each time you visit. Well meaning Evangelical (whatever that means in Nigeria) family members have it at the back of their minds as they counsel their beloved ones who insist that God has called them into the Evangelical Missionary force.

Most of the people who will participate in this convention are currently begging for money to send them to South Africa. The Evangelical Missionary force has in ones opinion no defence if it is described as a beggarly vocation (Profession?). If you are already married before the call, you’ll have to beg your spouse to understand (many times they simply trudge along). Then you’ll have to beg your Church to agree with you that God has called you, then you’ll beg the mission agency (you’ll apply) and if you are accepted, the real begging begins. You may have to travel through the country to beg Christians to pray for you and possibly consider parting with some of their money. It’s not so with the Priest, he demands for money!

You’ll have to beg people to teach you their culture, beg them to come listen to you, beg them to give their lives to Christ and save themselves from eternal damnation. You’ll beg them to come so you’d teach them to live the Christian life. You’ll have to beg, beg, and beg! Is there no way out?
