The First Week of School

Hope Kindergarten’s new school year sprung into action this week with the return of many familiar smiling faces as well as many new ones. After their first year, the school’s excellent reputation quickly spread and enrollment nearly doubled with 61 students currently attending.  The four enthusiastic teachers were eager to meet their new and returning students. Each class has its own English speaking volunteer assisting the teacher which sets Hope Kindergarten apart from other schools and raises the bar in education standards.

The first week was a flurry of activity with the students receiving new backpacks, supplies, and uniforms. The kids had a lot of fun beginning to learn the alphabet and singing songs in English. Attentive volunteers make a concerted effort to keep an eye out for any children needing additional assistance while learning. Having an extra set of hands in the classroom ensures all students receive the quality attention they need to learn.

The school is blessed this year to have some special needs students who have been receiving extra care from the volunteers. They have been progressing impressively from the much needed one-on-one time.

The teachers and volunteers are working together to decorate their classrooms to help make the learning environment fun and playful for the kids. They are incorporating games, videos, songs, and other creative techniques to ensure that learning stays fun and and exciting. The children’s eagerness to learn and sweet, smiling faces brings joy to all of those around them.  After only the first week, it is already obvious that it is going to be another exciting year at Hope Kindergarten!
