If you reached them first they would not;

Be in prison for juvenile delinquency, (juvenile prisoners have committed some of the worst crimes ever)

Want to use a condom to protect themselves from HIV/AIDS (by the age of 12, most boys and girls know about the use of the condom to protect themselves from HIV/AIDS)

Take John cina (WWW boxing champion and TV fanatic) as their hero; they would not watch other obscene films.

Become rapists (in Lusaka, 6 street kids raped a 12year old girl)

Become pregnant outside marriage (20-30% of ante natal mothers are teenage girls)

Become sex workers (more girls are becoming sex workers especially at the border towns)

Become armed robbers (some of the robbers today, are previous street kids.)

Become suicide commandos (most of the suicide commandos have a track record of being poor or adopted children)

Become infected by HIV/AIDS from the street, (some of the infected children on the street are infected by adults who give money for sex to the street kids)

Become Satanists, witches, free masons, kabbalas, humanists, atheists, (Satanists and other idol worshippers are targeting children)

Become corrupt leaders, (You have more corrupt leaders than genuine ones in most governments today)

Become Moslems, Hindus, Buddhists, belong to cultish churches, (Moslems and other cults or religions, are taking advantage of the children by giving them food, school, hospital services for exchange with their religion)

Be involved in illicit drugs like heroine, marijuana, illicit drinks; smoking etc (most Luanshya Boys high school pupils are involved in smoking or drinking beer)

Marry outside the church (there are more marriages outside the church than inside the church)

Become human traffickers (Human traffickers are taking street kids and send them to Iraq and Iran for training as suicide commandos)

Abuse their workers (Most of the workers are under paid in Zambia)

Become defilers (A 37 year old father defiled his one month old child in Livingstone, Zambia, March 2009)

Become murderers or commit suicide (a Germany teen killed 15 people in March 2009)

Become homosexuals or lesbians

Who are they?

They are children. They are everywhere. In your home, neighbourhood, community, town, province, country, continent and the whole world.

The Bible tell us that the Lord Jesus Christ loved them. He valued their lives, he acknowledged their faith, He said, “Assuredly I say to you, unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven”  (Matthew 18:3) to be converted is to be changed inside your heart and become Born Again. Children can easily believe because their hearts are tender, not exposed to so many sins. But the problem is WHOEVER REACHES THEM FIRST WILL WIN THEIR HEARTS.

Think about the above problems they face today. It is because somebody reached them first before you did. If you and I had reached them first, they would have become the opposite of the above. They would become Christian leaders who would uphold Christian standards, if they became a doctor, they would pray before they operated on you. They would protect their children from sexual abuse. They would fight the temptation to use a condom, or have sex before marriage and choose to abstain. Governments would be composed of people who fear God. They would fight corruption, they would pay their workers well, they would be honest, and they would be strong Christian leaders who would lead the church from God’s glory to glory.

Who can reach them?

 You and I can reach them.

How can you reach them?

You can tell them the story about the Good News of Christ.

But you don’t know how, you say.

1.       Child Evangelism Fellowship (CEF) can help you to reach them. It trains people how to effectively reach them with the gospel of Christ using different methods of evangelism. You could also learn on how to help them grow in the fear of God. You can enrol and learn how to lead them to the Lord. You could reach them in your church, neighbourhood or school.

But you don’t have time to teach in church or neighbourhood you say.

             You can pray for the ministry of CEF. You can pray for ministry doors to open, pray for more people to develop the passion for lost souls and be involved in reaching children, pray for givers to give towards the ministry, pray for wisdom and strength for workers and as the Spirit of God would lead you to pray. Pray for the lost so that they are reached and be open to the gospel, pray for Christians to reach them first. Praying is an effective way of reaching them.

But you are not an intercessor you say.

You could support the ministry financially. CEF is a faith organisation. It relies on financial supporters like you. CEF is in all provinces of Zambia, but not in all the towns of Zambia. There are many hard to reach areas where many people have not heard the story about Jesus. To get there, CEF workers need your financial support. Your financial support could take the ministry a long way. By giving you would be sending a CEF worker to areas which she would not get to without money. By financially supporting the ministry, more children would hear the gospel because of your money. Together you and I would be reaching them.

Think of how good it would be to have a corrupt free government, a country with no criminals, a country with a Christian president and Christian cabinet, a hospital with Christian workers, Christian engineers and Christian communities. Is it possible? Yes! It is. God delivered all the children of Israel from the Egyptian slavery. He can still do it for Zambia. The solution is in reaching them first. Will you be part of the team that wants to reach them first? Has the Lord spoken to you about reaching them first? You can pray and let God lead you on how you would reach them.
