Counseling is an intergrate part of mission. On My trip to Roatan, Honduras,as we ministered to the people,the medical team found women and children who had been raped and abused. Some had veneral disease that had gone untreated for a long time. The women were basic running the household as the men were away working for months at a time.The was a very emotional event for the women.Counseling is always needed in mission.Our team realized that we did not have any down time to ourself and noted that we needed to set time aside for what we had seen and witness and to de-brief from that. Counseling in mission is a healing tool and everyone involved can benefit from it.
