Empowering Biblical Stewardship in India

According to a report prepared by Charities Aid Foundation (CAF), the 2012 World Giving Index (that provides evidence based insight into the scope and nature of giving around the world) has revealed a pattern of a global decline in giving; whether through donation of money, volunteering of time, and proffering of help to people in need. Dr. John Low, Chief Executive, CAF cautions charities and NGOs around the world to re-double their efforts to nurture and to support their own charity sectors irrespective of the cause.

Today, responsible churches and Christian organizations have recognized the need to develop in-house capacity to train leaders in the area of mobilizing resources locally, by teaching Christians to see giving as part of their response to God’s faithfulness in their lives.

The South Asia Institute of Advanced Christian Studies (SAIACS) is organising ‘Empowering Biblical Stewardship in India: A Two-day Basic Intensive Training for Christian Leaders on the Theology and Practice of Funds Mobilization’ from 11-12 September 2013 in Bangalore, India. Biblical fund raising has developed a professional outlook that requires essential skills and practice of kingdom values that must be integrated in Christian Ministry.

The key resource person is Mr. P K D Lee, worked with the Indian Government and after an early retirement as General Manager of the Indian Government Mint, worked with Haggai Institute International establishing the International Advancement Team. Some of his books include ‘The Art of Fundraising’ and ‘Leadership through Serving’.
