A huge debate broke out in the UK about the amounts that executive leaders of charities/non-profits/non-governmental organisations (NGOs) in the UK are paid. 30 of them are paid more than £100,000 and in some cases more than the £142,500 that the British Prime Minister receives. There is a call for a broader discussion on the renumeration leaders of charities receive. As one commentator remarks ’The amount people get paid is a moral matter, as well as social, economic and political – and one that needs to be openly discussed.’ The attached articles give a flavour of the debate that started.
