Daily since returning from Lausanne, I have thanked God for the joy I experienced there. In an article I wrote for our church magazine, I stated, “If Heaven is anything like Lausanne 2010, I’m even more anxious to get there!” For me, it was a taste of Heaven: 4,000 people from 198 countries, great worship, music, teaching, fellowship. And, in spite of having my computer bag with my Mac Book Pro, two cell phones, a digital camera and all the papers I wrote while waking early mornings during the conference…stolen while having lunch outside with my Romanian brothers, Capetown 2010 was still one of the signal events of my life and Christian experience.
I love the ministry, purpose and vision of the Lausanne Movement and all its leaders. As I am retiring from my church position at the end of 2011, I would love to participate in other Lausanne activities, meetings, forums and consultations. But, that’s in God’s hands.
I’ve connected with many Capetown 2010 attendees among them, a wonderful brother in Pakistan, another in India, and the Romanians I met there have become personal friends and colleagues. I plan on maintaining these contacts, and add still more as God continues to open doors of ministry to the poor, the neglected, the castaways, and those who haven’t heard the Gospel
