How do you see Refugees?

There are many refugees in the world. By definition there are looking for a place where they can find a place of refuge – protection and provision. The Lord Jesus Christ is the Refuge for all those who need of refuge. God cares for refugees  and love them infinitely (Deut.10:18-19), because He created them in His own image. They are his  creation for His glory. We as believers must see the image of God in them. It is essential for us to understand  this concept. Many people in our world do not see refugees reflecting the image of God. Therefore, they could not see beyond their temporal needs. Only the people of God can see beyond this world into eternity.

Secondly, refugees are a reminder to us that in this world, we are just pilgrims, moving towards our eternal city, the city of God where God is our eternal joy. This is really a blessing for our lives. Let praise God for refugees among us.

Thirdly, they are among us so that we can share the love of God in Christ. We as the people God should understand that nothing happens by chance in this world, but by the providence of God. Many of us are unlikely go to the countries where we could not openly share our Saviour’s love and message. Now, we have many opportunities to share with people from these countries. Let us not miss our opportunities to be God’s ambassadors for His glory. So, God is bringing His people into His Church through Diaspora movements in our day. Let us rejoice and give thank for refugees among us.
