I want to focus on the Digo community that has not yet heard the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

The Digo are an East African tribe, concentrated on the southern coastal strip of Kenya between Mombasa and the border of Tanzania .Most of the Digos are nearly all Muslim. This was as a result of involvement with Arab Muslims when they were doing business. Before Muslims come Digos were traditional people they believe in witchcraft, magicians, and worship of their ancestors even after Islam religion come to them they did not change their worship. One example of spiritism is their use of blood sacrifices. Such sacrifices are very significant to the Digo, especially in the exorcism of evil spirits. Witchdoctors are also consulted regularly.

There is a great need to reach the Digo community with the gospel. Even though the nation of Kenya is predominantly Christian, the Digo have never been successfully reached with the Gospel. The  Muslim factor in this community has made it very difficult to this community with the gospel because one they have empowered the through business secondly they didn’t tell them to change from there worship of idols.  Also, the religious practices of the Digo are deeply rooted in spiritism and folk Islam. This makes reaching them a very difficult task.

As I conclude there is great need of prayer for this community that God will empower the church to with the ability and the strategy to reach the Digo tribe with the Gospel. For example when we went there we organized football tournament   where we had about eight football clubs It worked out very well that the leaders of the clubs that they requested for a seminar on how they can be empowered as young people .We did not manage to hold the seminar but we’re still praying for God to touch  men and women to stand with the Digo community.
