Salt…

Have we lost our savor? Are we known as just another religion and one of with people who’s lives overall lack the testimony of the dedication, beauty, grace, compassion, joy, and understanding of our Lord Jesus… who’s fruit is not primarily love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self control… who in general don’t demonstrate wearing the armor of God?

In the midst of a rapidly changing world, for most of us that call ourselves Christians, are we really living out the life of Christ or are we merely part of a religious movement to the extent that we desire to promote our theologies and ideologies… to the extent that we feel it benefits us or even just me as an individual… to the extent that we elevate ourselves above man as being better, wiser, nobler, smarter, pious, and religious?

We have been rescued, restored by Christ and now we are reborn, regenerated, renewed in our Messiah, to live out a life that will bring pleasure to God through our growth .

Jesus challenged religious expressions that were binding people… He healed people on the Sabbath… He led His disciples to work on the Sabbath… He publically contested and rebuked religious leadership… He hated that people inappropriately were making money off the sacrifices that others were bringing to God…

Jesus didn’t write any of the Scriptures, but He lived out the reality of who God is, so that others could write about His life. Jesus did refer to the Scriptures often, but specifically to confront those that said they believed in them. He mainly told stories and parables, and asked lots of questions, while living out the example of who we should and can be.

Jesus didn’t lead from the top down, but from the bottom up, living as an example among sinners, bringing flavor to the world that was desirable to many and an irritant to others…
