First given at an Evangelical Alliance/BibleFresh initiative in March 2010, this is a talk which seeks to embrace the culturally alien nature of the Bible rather than avoid or marginalise it (a temptation very common when seeking to communicate with a post-Christian society).

The encouragement is simply to help people to read the Bible for themselves! But this will entail people overcoming their chronological snobbery, being willing to expect a worldview clash, and the determination to spend time with ’strangeness’.
