The Cape Town 2010 Closing Ceremony opens with remarks from Michael Cassidy followed by the songs How Great is Our God, All Hail the Power of Jesus’ Name and Lord Have Mercy / Christ Have Mercy.
The Closing Ceremony continues with the Collect of the Day, Old Testament Reading, Psalm 148, Epistle Reading, the Gospel Acclamation, Gospel Reading and Worthy is the Lamb. Lindsay Brown, International Director of The Lausanne Movement, challenges the Cape Town participants to pursue the vision of Lausanne III. Referring to 2 Corinthians 4, he challenges the participants to fulfill the Gospel ministry by holding to the truth and living an authentic life.
The Closing Ceremony continues with the Sermon Hymn, Nicene Creed, Stay with Us, Lord, Prayers of the Church, Prayers of Penitence and Commitment, Pardon and Sharing of the Peace.
The Closing Ceremony continues with Holy, Holy, Holy, the Eucharistic Prayer and Institution, The Lord’s Prayer, The Lamb of God and Dona Nobis Pacem.
The Closing Ceremony continues with the distribution of Bread and Wine and the songs Kyrie Eleison, Behold the Lamb, the Power of the Cross, In Christ Alone and the Post Communion Prayer.
Archbishop Henry Luke Orombi of Uganda, Programme Director Grace Mathews and Executive Chair Doug Birdsall lead the final moments of the closing ceremony, followed by the closing song, “Crown Him with Many Crowns”.
