This is great! I’m encouraged to know that there are others that share this ’burden and fraustration’ in everyday work place. Most of the ’holy’ people I meet on Sunday disappear on Monday morning and are never seen again until the next service. Thanks for putting the blame where it belongs – on us Pastors. It looks to me that we have a long historical problem. Elijah ran to God to complain about Jezebel. God assured him that there are 7000 believers in Israel who are not seen in daily life. Some of them may have included Obadiah, who hid 100 prophets in cisterns and rationed out food for them. How then could they have prepared Israel to respond to the current situation? Where were the others? they also disappeared on monday morning and possible worshipped in hidding – there were no Daniel, Shedrach and the rest.

Okay, God gave Elijah a winning strategy, “Anoint Hazel king over Aram”, anoint Jehu king over Israel and Elijah as prophet to succede you. The work plan is ’Hazel will start slaying, then Jehu will kill any who escapes the sword of Hazel while Elijah will be last man, slaying those that escape the sword of Jehu. Note that till today nobody annointed Hazel, so he became a mighty instrument against Israel. Secondly, a young prophet was sent to anoint Jehu and he gave Jehu a destructive ministry that derailed him. So Elisha – the only one anointed by Elijah had to work alone and even died with his anointing. I think he might have been overwhelmed and so had no time to mentor anybody.

This is the picture you just painted my brother. We have remained and may remain there untill we take drastic decisions. We claim that our mission stems from the mission of God, so what is the mission of God? What does God want to do with this planet? Burn it up? Yes, but He also plans to replace it with a NEW one. It looks to me me as if we have all gotten it wrong somewhere. God wants “man in the image of God” to rule forever over His creation. His reason for creating man (male and female) was THAT THEY MAY RULE!

That was why He made a full grown man and a full grown woman. The duty of Christian discileship is to train regenarated man into the image of Christ, which is the full image of God in human form and the creative image of man. Man was made like Christ, he fell from this image and was redeemed that he might grow back into that image and RULE over God’s creation. The creation is waiting for these class of people and we are busy praeching about how to go to heaven. Without attempting to start any controversy, it looks to me as if while planning for eternity, we must practice in temporarity. Our duty is to exercise the rule of Christ over wherever we find ourselves from monday to monday. Until we change our attitude, respect and “anoint” and colaborate with the Hazels of our time, we may remain ineffective in the work place. Don’t ask me why God wants a king to anointed for ARAM that has no covenant with Him. It looks to me as if the earth is the Lord’s, even as He had declared it.
