Theology of Partnership

I’d like to start a conversation around the theme of theology of partnership.  I will roughly define “theologizing” as the savoring recognition of the presence and intention of God at a given time/context.  I will define “partnership” here simply as two or more organizations working together to do something that could not be done by either in isolation.  Just to frame the conversation, I will talk about this as “missional unity”– in other words, unity “in Christ” intentionally focused toward missional ends.

The statements in the attached article (“Theological statements for Conversation) are not written to be dogmatic, but rather to catalyze conversation—the main idea is to challenge, refine and sharpen our theological reflections on partnership.  I have intentionally not included chapter and verse references for each point so that we can use scripture in our dialogue to affirm, sharpen or deny a given point.  Each point is numbered so we can refer back to specific statements.   Blessings on the journey!
