To facilitate a truly global conversation, we ask Christian leaders from around the world to respond to the Global Conversation’s lead articles. These points of view do not necessarily represent the Lausanne Movement. They are designed to stimulate discussion from all points of the compass and from different segments of the Christian community. Please add your perspective by posting a comment so that we can learn and grow together in the unity of the Spirit.
A response to Alex Araujo’s article: The Collaboration Continuum
Though I agree with Alex’s partnership continuum, I feel for a Christian the fundamentals need to be much stronger. Often the partnering activity is measured in the benefit one receives rather than saying “interdependence “ is how God has made us and we do not have a choice. If our mind set is changed, then working together is not seen as a “burden” or for “profit” (as the business world sees it) but that a Christian’s DNA is working together. Somehow over the centuries, the church has failed to recognize this or give the importance it deserves so that the common task of fulfilling the great commission could be done with God’s people working together, which in itself will be a great testimony for God.
Though fellowship is portrayed in God’s word- the cooperation and merger is a result of good fellowship- where people are able to “ care and share” for one another.
