Informally distributed at Cape Town 2010, the Oslo Coalition’s "Missionary Activities and Human Rights" contains a statement which essentially calls upon missionaries to not engage in contextualization. I found the statement troubling for a number of reasons. My reflections may be found here:

Excellent response. We seem too often to forget that the traditions of of the Western church are heavily couched in the vocabulary, rituals, and culture of a pagan people in Europe transformed by the power of the Gospel. Rather than abandon the deeply-rooted concepts and understandings of a community, the early missionaries recognized the importance of infusing terms and customs with new understandings grounded in Biblical truth. The Western church makes a grave mistake in thinking it must force our confessions, terminology, and liturgy onto other cultures.
In Christ,
Brian
