When Christian or Pastor talks about sins, he thinks generally of the ordinary ones such as theft, lye, adultery, worshiping of idols or fetish, etc. Evangelist, preaching to touch sinners’ hearts so that they may give their lives to the Lord while repenting themselves for their bad ways or works, asks to criminal, to murderer, to she or he who does abortion, etc. to stand up and repent for his crimes in view to obtain from God his forgiveness. The thematical approach of the Sin consisting in listing, enumerating sins topic after topic, the Bible itself shows its limits from the Old to the New Testaments as mentioned in the following passages:
“You shall not covet your neighbor’s house. You shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, or his manservant or maidservant, his ox or donkey, or ANYTHING THAT BELONGS TO YOUR NEIGHBOR”. Ex. 20:17, NIV version.
“If a man or woman living among you (...) and contrary to my command has worshpped other gods, bowing down to them, or to the sun or the moon or [ALL] THE STARS OF THE SKY”. Deuteronomy 17:2-3, NIV version.
“(…) Sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, AND THE LIKE”. Gal. 5:19-21, NIV version
“We also know that law is made not for the righteous but for lawbreakers and rebels, the ungodly and sinful, the unholy and irreligious; for those who kill their fathers or mothers , for murderers, adulterers and perverts, for slave traders and liars and perjurers – AND FOR WHATEVER ELSE IS CONTRARY TO THE SOUND DOCTRINE (…)”.1 Tim.1:9-10, NIV version.
“ANYTHING THAT BELONGS TO YOUR NEIGHBOR; [ALL] THE STARS OF THE SKY; AND THE LIKE; AND FOR WHATEVER ELSE IS CONTRARY TO THE SOUND DOCTRINE” proves that a topical approach (through topic) will never permit us to end listing the sins and then finish up knowing one day what the Sin is really.
It’s why, Peccatology, the general theory of Sin, proceeds through a Systemic Approach, id est, gives the ‘universalizable’ definition of Sin making use of the Infinite Sets Theory. Building a scientific theory means finding the fixed guiding principles and unchanging laws. Therefore, once the laws of particular experiences of the Sin and the principles of the Sin are known, Peccatology gives us possibility of "retrotelling", telling and foretelling ["retrodict", "dict" and predict] upon whichever of the peccaminous acts; it means that the potential of peccability of a past, present or future sinful acts becomes detectable.
From this moment, Peccatology, the biblical science centred on the Sin, can demonstrate from now on that are sinners before God, the most perfect democrat, the Masonic, Rosicrucian, spiritist, mystic, esoterist [among of which, the esoteric christianity], Buddhist, hinduist, taoist, alchemist, cabbalist, numerologist, astrologist, etc.; even, he who worships Mary, mother of Jesus, is sinner, and so forth. Thus, you’ll see the sinners’ circle widening because the ordinary sins Algorithm is also valid and works wonderfully with the one of the extraordinarily invisible sins.
“The sins of some men are obvious, reaching the place of judgment ahead of them; the sins of the others trail behind them. In the same way, good deeds are obvious, and even those that are not cannot be hidden”. 1 Tim.5:24-25, NIV version.

Sin is sin. we can’t make excuses, some pastors, preachers and christians try to make a difference in sin. A white lie for example, we are told not to bear false witness against our neigbors. We are guilty of sin, the consequence of one sin carries the same weight as the other, that is why we have to repent daily. Sin is sin, murder is just as guilty as lying.

Exactly, there is no problem, sin is sin, the meaning in which you use the word "sin" works very well with the fact that some try to make difference between sin just to make excuses: adultery is worse than a mere lie for example.
However, our approach as Peccatologists differs from what you’ve evoked above. We say that Sin is not sin when sin = a sin and sin = the Sin. Both of them are not equivalent. One of them is included in the other one.
In fact, a sin is a sub-set of the great set the Sin. Everyone can easily enumerate sin one after another. Theft is a sin, killing is a sin, coveting is a sin too, and so forth and so on.
But what is practically difficult for anybody to be done is to try to definite the infinite set of sins that we call the Sin. What is the Sin? ; here’s the reason of existing of this new biblical science named Peccatology that your servant is the inventing father.
Peccatologists say that to definite the Sin we have to use the systemic approach making use of the Infinite Sets Theory because the Sin is not singular, but is an infinite set.
