A fresh new approach to Biblical stewardship teaching and training: FREED-UP FINANCIAL LIVING

Do any of these sound familiar in your church or organization?

Sophia and Steven, a newlywed couple not long out of college, are saddled with tens of thousands of dollars of student loans. They’re not living an extravagant lifestyle, but even their combined income isn’t keeping up. As a result, they’re going deeper and deeper into credit card debt.

Taylor, a recently divorced mother of two, never paid much attention to finances. Now, she struggles to stretch her income to cover all her expenses and fears that she may be getting into trouble financially.

George isn’t struggling financially, but he’s not having the Kingdom impact he could have if he were more intentional about stewardship.

These folks, and many like them, are in financial bondage. It might be bondage to creditors, or bondage to the pull of the culture and the expectations of others, or maybe bondage to material things. They’re not experiencing the freedom that God longs for them to have. Good intentions won’t bring this freedom or the spiritual fruit that could accompany it. They need a transformation.

How does Freed-Up Financial Living transform finances and lives?

  • FREED-UP FINANCIAL LIVING teaches the “what” and the “why”of God-honoring stewardship. Participants learn that the Bible is an excellent economic text book about earning, giving, saving, debt and spending.
  • FREED-UP FINANCIAL LIVING creates awareness of cultural myths that influence and drive much of our financial behavior, enabling participants to base financial behavior on truth rather than myth.
  • FREED-UP FINANCIAL LIVING challenges participants to look at each aspect of personal finances and to ask if they are becoming more faithful (God-honoring) or more foolish (succumbing to the ways of the culture).
  • FREED-UP FINANCIAL LIVING provides practical guidance on resisting the “pull of the culture” and moving toward a God-honoring plan for the financial resources God has entrusted to us.
  • FREED-UP FINANCIAL LIVING trains participants to integrate biblical principles into their day-to-day financial lives and gives them the tools and instructions they need.
  • FREED-UP FINANCIAL LIVING encourages participants to take hold of God’s forgiveness for the past and his strength, provision, and wisdom for the future. Vignettes and video clips of folks who have successfully changed bad habits and overcome financial challenges offer hope and inspiration.
