For the past 29 years Las Newman has been actively involved in student mission through the ministry of IFES. He has served as Co-ordinator for Jamaica’s National Crusade with Argentine Evangelist Dr. Luis Palau in 1993, and Congress logistics co-ordinator for the first Anglican Congress of the Church in the Province of the West Indies in 2000.
Born and raised in Jamaica, he was educated in Jamaica, Canada, and the United Kingdom. He is married to Canadian born Margaret DeJong and they are proud parents of three children, Minke, Anneke, and Johnathan.  He and his family are members of the St. Andrew Parish Church (Anglican) in Kingston, Jamaica.
