This is truly an opportunity for missions and evangelism to take place. The United States and many other countries responded immediately to the tragedy of the earthquake that occured in Haiti in 2010. There was an outpouring of American missionaries that traveled to the country, but there was also much abuse of the situation by people who sought to profit by those wanting to help. This was discouraging to those who were unable to travel to the country itself so that they could see how their money was actually being used. It is difficult to freely give when there is the possablity that the money will never make it to those for who it was intended and will only serve to pad the pockets of those that already have so much. Is there a way to work around this so that people are encouraged to give and know that the money and resources are being used appropriately?
