Hungary was an unknown country to me until about 1975. I knew it was situated in the centre of Europe, had a difficult language, and the revolution failed in 1956, the same month my parents married. Our pastor was concerned about his colleagues living under difficult circumstances behind the “Iron Curtain,” so he was able to invite Hungarian pastors to visit our small village, involving the church youth group, of which I was one, to guide them around.
