The message seems to be clear: ’we’ have the resources, welcome to the African church to ’come and get them’. What is this? A show of banking prowess, or a Christian conference?

@ Jim_Harries:

Jim, you’re not listening very charitably. The audio says, ’One of the goals of Mission Africa is to promote those partnerships between international and African ministries, so they can pool their resources, and continue to work together...’ I.e. all have resources, which will work better if shared.

But sorry, I should have flagged that this was designed for use in North America - I thought the American accent might give that away. There is a Spanish version for use in Latin America, as the broadcast manager is Bolivian. Hence when it comes to answering the question of how to be involved, one idea is to partner with an African ministry/church, and another, to do a mission project in your own area, in the same spirit of international partnership. This is not arrogant: it’s just directing the practical options at the intended audience. It is expected that radio will be the main means of participation in the Global Conversation in Africa (not this website).

The programmes our energetic African radio broadcasting friends have produced are all on the site under ’Down To Earth’. They are inviting stations across Africa to carry these, and can give scripts in English, French, or Portuguese to local stations to translate or adapt in other languages. If you could help with this, please do make contact on here with Rudolf Kabutz, or any of the others in the Down To Earth group. Thanks!

@ Rosemary_Grier:

Sorry if I was too ’harsh’. I responded from what came to mind ... these are hard issues. It is easy to criticise. Not so easy to do things, so I should have been more grateful to those who have put all the effort in - that I haven’t done. Apologies. Thanks for those who are working hard.
