Abdul claims since Jesus Christ saw “all the kingdoms of the world and their splendor” in the Gospel, the “Bible assumes that the earth is flat.” He has been unable to debunk my assertions that fasting during Ramadhan is manmade because the rules are specific to Arabia and its environs. Had God All knowing invented this fast, He would have known these rules would not have applied in certain parts of the world Muslims now inhabit. (This same God in the Qur’an claims the sun “set in a spring of murky water” and Muhammad, his prophet, claimed when the sun sets “it prostrates Itself underneath the Throne...

Does he not think that Jesus, as part of the Trinitarian God, would be able to see all of the earth should he so choose and that he is not ever limited? The Bible also clearly defines this. It is interesting that people who want to prove the Bible false must take verses out of context in order to even attempt to prove anything wrong with it.

Why does it seem that we have forgtteb the poetry of both the bible and the quran. We lose so much of the bible’s message because we want the words to be provable to science or outside reason that we lose the plot. I believe in the truth of the bible but that does not mean that when i read that the devil took jesus up on to a mountian that i wonder which mountain but instead see that as my lord did i must forsake positions of power because to accept the call to power is the call of the enemy.

@ BrimstoneAGS:
It seems that the element of extremism is constantly present within the context of religion. As you stated its as if we have to know ALL the details in order for the truth to be true. I don’t think God wants us to be powerless but its so easy to become "power drunk". This is what I believe Satan was trying to offer...unchecked power, which in truth he was incapable of truly offering anyone. Another of his commonly used deceptions.

I believe what the bible says. If Jesus was on top of a high mountain and the devil showed him the kingdoms of the world I believe. I think that this text is talking about the known world at that time. I had a chance to go to the Holy Land in 2010 and the guided pointed out to us where certain countries (kingdoms) were located. They were in a centralized location and where we were standing you could sense what this text was saying. Also I had a chance to stand on "Massada" and I had even a greater revelation of Jesus being able to see all the kingdoms of the world.

@ Robert_Setzer:
I think your faith enhanced your journey to the Holy Land just as it should enhance everything in our lives and provide us with a lens through which we can view scripture and life in general.
