Iranian Pastor Youcef Nadarkhani who has been sentenced to death for apostasy faces execution any moment. Now that the Iranian Supreme Court has upheld his death sentence, he could be hanged anytime. Please pray for him, his loved ones, Iranian Christians, their oppressors and Iranian Muslims.
The international community needs to put pressure on the Iranian government and it starts with us. Similar death sentences were commuted in Afghanistan due to the international pressure.
Apparently, “Freedom to change one’s religion is a fundamental right which Iran pledged to uphold when it signed the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights.” The world should hold Iran accountable.
The workweek in Iran is Saturday to Thursday. The fact that it is the weekend in most countries doesn’t mean offices in Iran aren’t open. Please use Twitter, Facebook or whatever means is at your disposal to spread the word about Pastor Nadarkhani’s plight. His life should be spared and his freedom granted. Please pray for Pastor Youcef!
2 Corinthians 4:8-10: We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed; always carrying in the body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be manifested in our bodies.

Often we have been made to believe in the West that church should be a place of extreme peace and without interruption. Yet that is not at all what Jesus or the Bible declares. In this life we will have trial and tribulation with persecution. The unfortunate thing is that we as Christian has lost the value of intercession for our fellow laborers. My prayer is for Pastor and I join effort in seeking his release and at the same time glory with him in the fact that sometimes we have to lose life to gain life. If efforts are unsuccessful, I will see him as a seed that was sown in the soil of life that others may see Jesus.

My heart goes out to this pastor. My prayer is that God would move on the hearts of minds of this pastor’s captives with love and mercy and release him. Jesus said, "Blessed are the merciful for they shall obtain mercy." It’s still hard for me to imagine that people are still being persecuted for their Christian faith in the 21st century. Not only is this pastor being persecuted but I am sure that other men and women of God throughout the world are being persecuted for their Christian faith. I call on Christian believers everywhere to pray for this great man of God!

This is sad that the Pastor has been ordered to be hanged because he changed his religion to Christianity. However, if Christians would sincerely pray. God can change things. However, no matter what the consequence, at least, he became a Christian. I hope people will really pray about this situation and not just read this article about the situation. We as Christians need to be sincere and really pray. Everyone really pray.

As many as will, are praying and doing whatever we can.
nkjeannot, I understand very well your frustration. Getting Christians to do some of the simplest things in the US is very difficult. I have discussed in some of my posts here and blogs, that passivity (not doing anything), I have found, is due to a lack of belief. This sounds harsh, but my determinations are not without evidence. Don’t get TOO frustrated with all Christians just because the active and passionate ones are the minority.

I’m not so frustrated, but it’s for me a manner or an argumentative strategy to exhort Christians to do that is good, acting ASAP in favor of reverend Youcef.
To dissuad Rev Terry from burning that so-called holy koran, President OBAMA was obliged to intervene. Each of us wrote to Rv T. to have him give his plan up. Christians from IRAN who could touch their authorities, must do it. Thanks

All the people of the Earth, at a given moment of their history, had a need that God might go to their rescue setting them free from suffering they endured somewhere in their flesh or their spirit.
Let’s remember a bit of ... numerous natural catastrophes, and so on and so forth. It’s not for next to nothing that God says in this passage: “In the time of my favor I heard you, and in the day of my salvation I helped you (…)”, 2 Corinth. 6:2a.
Today, in some places of the entire World, many of Christians permanently live comfortably off, in incredible graces and miracles of God. Overall those who live Countries in that their ancestors did nothing to putting territories under curse (human sacrifices for example), but have as spiritual foundation, the Bible and as founders, the Christians.
In the meanwhile, some other ones are already, before the Great Tribulation, almost in “small hells”, for being in Satan persecutor agents’ clutches.
What precedes above comes from my last subject posted on conversation that I think Christians do not mind living at ease while the other Christians need sometimes just a compassion and/or a concret charity.
What continues below is my message I suppose not understood:

In the meanwhile Reverend Youcef is already, before the Great Tribulation, almost in “small hells”, for being in Satan persecution agents’ clutches of execution. Unfortunately, he lives the material and ephemeral wealths’ Countries in that their ancestors indeed put territories under curses (the holy servant’s hanging for his faith for example among many other else), because they have as spiritual foundation, the Koran and as founders, the Muslims.
I have myself understood now for my previous messages have no longer aroused any compassion or concret decision from Christians.
