I agree with Bourdann. Many Christians concentrate on their “can’ts” instead of God’s “cans.” I think that’s why many Christians get defeated in their walk. I know that is what happens to me when I get discouraged. I get in a position and steadily tell God my problems, but after I recollect my thoughts and I am encouraged in His word, I start telling my problems about my God and He is for me and with me!

@ JourneywithCHRISTie:

I agree also, we can get hooked onto I can’ts and the truth is we can’t by ourselves, but with God all things are possible. We must remember God’s grace is sufficient.

All that glitters is not gold. I believe there is a
prosperity gospel and it is JESUS! He came for us to have life and have it more
abundantly.  Everything on our Christian
walk is not going to be pleasant. We will still have trials but we must believe
Romans 8:28 all things will work together for the good. To think that all
Christians will be earthly rich is absurd. But we are rich in the spirit…because
our Father has all that need.  The other
prosperity gospel comes in when people tend to conform to the world and apply
worldly principles to Christian life. But the true prosperity of a better life
is in Jesus Christ not in worldly possession.

I guess that I am old fashion because I still believe that the gospel message is still about the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.  I think that Christian believers are being mislead by this prosperity gospel.  If we think that we deserve all of God’s blessings down here on earth, what do look for when we get to heaven?  To me, the prosperity gospel message is watered down version of the true gospel’s intent.  Jesus said, "the poor you will have with you always..."  I have to believe what Jesus says in his word and not what some people think or believe what he is saying!

i FEEL ONCE A PERSON RECIEVES SALVATION THEY WILL GROW TO LEARN THAT PROPERITY IS NOT IN MATERIAL WEALTH,  BUT IN THE GOODNESS OF A SOVERN GOD. THE TRANSFORMATION OF THE SLEFISH INDVIDUAL IS MOVED TO A MINDSET OF SEEKING FIRST THE KINGDOM OF GOD AND ALL OF ITS RIGHTIOUNESS AND NOT THE WORLD AND ALL OF ITS LIMITED WEALTH.
