For the past 29 years Las Newman has been actively involved in student mission through the ministry of IFES. He served for fifteen years (1979-1994) as General Secretary of the Jamaican IFES Student Movement and later as IFES Regional Secretary for the Caribbean (1995-2005), overseeing the work in the English, French and Dutch-speaking Caribbean.
