The past fifty years have seen incredible successes in the worldwide church. We have experienced the growth of the house church movement in China and the spread of the gospel in Africa. God has stirred the body of Christ to work in unity across denominations for the sake of the Gospel.
But these kingdom successes have been achieved despite Christians giving just 2% of their income. We have an unprecedented opportunity to build on the success of the past fifty years. Imagine if we upped our giving to 3% or even 4%. Imagine what can happen if we use that giving more effectively in God’s Kingdom. Holy Spirit-inspired giving has the potential to transform missions.
But we also know that God’s priority is us, not our money. God gave everything for us, not even sparing His Son. When we give ourselves to Him, all we have becomes His. We adjust our priorities and steward His resources for His purposes. This revelation should mean allocating more than 2% to His work.
When we respond to God’s abundant generosity, and support kingdom causes freely, He blesses both parts of His body: the generator of funds and the worker in the field. And in partnering, we discover the purpose God has planned for us.
In this conversation on Global Generosity, we will look at the heart of stewardship and at partnership opportunities with some exciting missions work rising up from some of the most under-resourced people on the planet. We will also talk about what new opportunities like the interactive web can bring to unite global givers, receivers, churches and mission organizations.
