Join the conversation on Media and Technology

Media and Technology Wherever we live in our contemporary world, information and communication technologies increasingly influence and impact our lives. Engaging media is an integral part of making the case for the Truth of Christ in a pluralistic, globalized world. This includes being committed both to media awareness, media presence and media ministries. These key concerns are the major themes in this conversation on Media and Technology.

First, we need to encourage and enable each other as a global evangelical community to develop proper media awareness. This includes technological, aesthetical, cultural, worldview, theological and spiritual dimensions and perspectives.

Secondly, we need to encourage and enable each other as a global evangelical community to practice an appropriate media presence in the major news and entertainment media. This includes the key roles of being journalists, documentarians and commentators, as well as entering into creative production of various fictional materials. There are also increasing opportunities for general media presence through the use of interactivity and social media.

Thirdly, we need to encourage and enable each other as a global evangelical community to be involved in strategic media mission initiatives and ministries. This involves the creative and critical use of various media platforms, genres and formats to communicate the Gospel Truth of “God in Christ reconciling the world to himself” in the context of a holistic biblical worldview.

Media messages and information technology increasingly influence and impact our lives. How should we respond as Christians?
How can we develop proper media awareness as global Christians?
How can we as Christians be present and visible with truth and love in the major news and entertainment media?
In technology-rich countries, young people live in a media world of internet, movies, television series, computer games and social media. How should we respond in mission?
How can young Christians be equipped globally to become media missionaries and media professionals?
How can we remain committed to the Truth of Christ and personal holiness in a challenging media world?
