They live in a low to middle income community where most people bring home between 10,000 to 40,000 per year. It used to be a big textile town, but has since lost most of the mills that were there. The children have no clue that anything has changed, though because their parents are so upbeat in their personalities and so insistent that God will only give them what they can handle.

Short Term Mission Trip with Gospelink

Gospelink supports national pastors/missionaries in Africa, Russia, Eukraine, and India. At the time, it only cost around $1,000 USD to fully support a national pastor/missionary for a year. We were a team of half Americans and half Zambians. We worked together to share the Gospel in schools and do evening Jesus Film crusades. At the end of our trip, my Zambian team leader told me that he appreciated my service and asked if I would be back next year. I told him, "I don’t think so."…

On the back drop, there was a giant question mark. It said, "Got questions for Christians? Put them here." And there was a box where they could drop in their question on a paper. It’s certainly no substitute for other forms of evangelism, but it was successful in receiving contact from individuals who prefer to be more discreet. This was about 6 years ago.

We have been the only cross cultural missionaries in the region until recenlty. Some regions can be classified as unreached, but most are definately unengaged. My wife and I gave up thriving careers in the United States where we both were GMs for different companies and moved to Ecuador to work amongst the people of the Cloud Forest.
