Our campus church did aplologetics meetings aimed as evangelism to the students. The group was comprised of evangelical urban pastors of varying ages, most of whom have also had experience working in rural contexts and many of whom have taught in Bible schools. A week prior to our meeting I passed out Chinese translations of the paper along with a copy of the ’74 Lausanne Covenant and a general introduction to the Congresses. I first learned about the urban Jesus in Glasgow and the universal Jesus in Rotterdam. Urban mission involves risk and shared agendas. I learn that we should not to do mission alone and in the urban context involves transformation of social structures and personal lives.
