This week, I explore the theological foundations for contextualization. The question of why we should pursue contextualization is typically answered in a very narrow way that emphasizes what are certainly important socio-cultural and anthropological issues.  For me, I always long to have very firm and clear Biblical reasons as well -- a theological impetus, if you will.  There are at least four theological foundations that I’d like to mention and briefly explore.  I present the first two of those today.
