Ministry involves dealing with sin and that sometimes involves communicating the sins of others. Perhaps surprisingly, the key element in communicating another’s sin is the spiritual maturity of the communicator. Scripture gives guidellines for communication that deals directly with the sin(s) of believers and non-believers, but the effectiveness of such communication depends on a believers "head and heart."

Communicating others’ sins is a very sticky issue, and I believe that unless someone is very careful, one can easily breach confidentiality and ruin other people’s lives, out of goodwill and a good "CHRISTIAN" heart.

@ jesus_loves_children:
You are correct in that "communicating sins of others" can end up in sin. That possibility is greater when a believer responds on the basis of emotions instead of following scriptural guidelines coupled with an on-going desire to be like Christ. However, the church discipline and restoration process involves communication of another believer’s sin to fellow restorers. Plus, warnings of others’ sins that could result in current harm to others (such as a known child molester who demonstrates an observable interest in children of fellow believers) need to be stated. Saying that, however, the KEY to communication that honors Christ and follows biblical guidelines is the Christ-likeness of the believer who is the communicator. That spiritual maturity will tend to lessen communication to a minimum so that the possibility of resultant sin is greatly minimized and, hopefully, non-existent. Thank you so much for your comment, for it contains a viable, biblical warning that followers of Christ must heed in their communication. May God richly bless you as you follow Christ . . . I look forward to being with you in heaven!

@ jesus_loves_children:
jesus_loves_children you are so true. As a Christ follower we all know that we sin or have sinned and fallen short. To use that without the consent of the person could be very damaging to their faith. So many times we use that not to encourage people to degrade them. In other words it become a personal attack.
