I have been serving refugees in Germany last 10 years. It has been a blessing to see that many refugees have put their faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Indeed these refugees had found that Jesus is their Refuge in times of difficulties and disappointments. Many refugees have left their home countries because of life threatning experiences. Many do not want to leave their home countries, but were foreced to leave. When they arrive in a new country, they needed friendly faces to smile at them and say some words to encourage their souls.

My wife and I go out to different refugee camps and visit them. Most of the times, we just listen to their stories and cry with them. Each refugee has his or her own unique stories. This has helped us to appreciate each one of them and support them in their need whenever possible.

We also help them with translation work, leagal advices, visting them in Hospitals, taking them to visit doctors for their medical needs, helping them in their day to day necessities. 

All the time, I have told them I could not do any thing with my own strength but with the strength of my Lord Jesus Christ. Christ is the one who sent me to talk with them and share His love with them. I come to you because I love Jesus who wants me to love you all. This is so important, because many refugees tend to think that I am a good person. I want them to know I am not good but the Lord Jesus is and therefore he sends me to serve them. The Lord Jesus gives me strength to love and serve them.

Being their friends and involving in their lives was important. Often, I eat with them, play with them and visit their friends with them. It is so essential that they know that we are not above them but just like them.

We also provide scriptures in many different lanugages. This has been a blessing to many refugees. Some of them have resisted Christian literatures. In such cases, we humbly went away from them and accepted their views.

We seek to serve refugees in many ways we can. We want to use every opportunities to show the love of God in Christ Jesus. So, we look for new ways and new ideas to share the love of Christ with them.

I would like to see that many native Churches taking interest in reaching out to refugees and foriegners among them. Native Churches have shown little interest in understanding other cultural backgrounds and accept them into their middst.  I love to see more native churches see diversity as a blessing rather than a curse.
